How would you rate episode 1 of Your Forma ? Community score: 3.2 How would you rate episode 2 of Your Forma ? Community score: 3.4 How would you rate episode 3 of Your Forma ? Community score: 3.5 As a writer, I believe beginnings are important. A good beginning hooks the reader (or viewer), introducing the world and characters in efficient and entertaining fashion, providing context for the rest of the story to build upon. Clearly the producers of light novel anime adaptation Your Forma hold different opinions, and I'm not one hundred percent convinced they're correct. Much like last season's cursed Übel Blatt, Your Forma elects to excise the entire first novel volume, dumping the hapless viewer in media res, when the original story wasn't written thus. Imagine if Peter Jackson decided to forgo The Fellowship of the Ring's slow build-up, deciding instead to jump straight to the meat of The TwoTowers? No matter how excellent the film-maker's craft, the viewer's experience would suffer...

The PSNI has defended a new virtual officer service after staff have raised concerns over personal safety. A test run of the new 'virtual officer attendance' programme is now underway in Northern Ireland. It has been described as an "alternative" to in-person conversations with police officers, or what the service describes as "telephone resolution" for crime victims to speak with police. Police insist the service will be used where there is "no immediate threat, risk or harm" that would require officers to attend in person. However, a source has raised concerns with Belfast Live regarding personal security and safety through the introduction of video call appointments for minor offences. A main concern is that office-based officers would be identified, with fears that images could be shared on social media or conversations altered through AI. Employees from Barnard Collegereceived text messages this week from the federally run Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) on their personal phones linking to a voluntary survey asking recipients if they are Jewish or Israeli and whether they have been subjected to harassment or antisemitism. The text, which was reviewed by the Guardian, states that the civil rights agency is currently reviewing the employment practices at Barnard College and invites current and former employees to complete the linked survey. It is not clear how many college employees received the survey, but it appears to have been sent to a sizable portion of the faculty and other staff. The survey, which appeared to be part of the Trump administrations aggressive investigations into American colleges and universities over antisemitism allegations stemming from pro-Palestinian protests, sparked anxiety among some recipients.Regardless of the stated intent, this survey in effect creates a list of Jewish fa...

When I was 16 I eagerly auditioned for our high school musical, singing a verse and the chorus from the Irene Cara song Flashdance What a Feeling. Instead of taking the music teachers advice and picking something suitable for my voice, I chose this song because I secretly wanted to be just a dancer with a welding mask just like the star of the film.Preparations were intense. I spent hours rehearsing at home, nailing down the lyrics and watching the same scene over and over on my treasured VHS copy of Flashdance. I would have attempted some of the dance moves too but it was clear to everyone that was never going to be to my advantage. My friendship group auditioned for the handful of lead roles and I had visions of myself up on stage, belting out a song alongside the cute boy in my year I had a crush on.Aidan felt safe at choir, changed by the communal act of sharing his voice then he was diagnosed with cancerRead moreThe day finally came when the cast list was posted near the mus...

Posted inbyJeff Foust April 14, 2025April 14, 2025GREENBELT, Md. Members of Marylands congressional delegation expressed confidence that Congress will ultimately reject sharp cuts in NASA science programs proposed by the White House, citing competition with China as one factor.Speaking to reporters outside the main entrance to NASAs Goddard Space Flight Center, Sen. Chris Van Hollen and Reps. Steny Hoyer and Glenn Ivey, all Maryland Democrats, reiterated their opposition to a nearly 50% cut in NASA science programs that the administration included in a passback budget document delivered to the agency last week.If you cut the science programming in half, you hurt our country in many ways, Van Hollen said. You hurt our national security. You hurt our innovation economy. You hurt our leadership around the world. He and others argued that cuts to NASA science would give China an edge in space science. China is already working on mimicking the success of the US space program over...

It isn't hard to see why YouTube remains the most dominant social media. Anyone who says "there is nothing to watch" clearly hasn't spent much time on YouTube!"YouTube's 20th anniversary is impressive on several fronts. The number of daily and overall uploads to the testifies to YouTube's massive popularity and relevance, but those numbers also underscore the progress of the data center technologies supporting the platform and the communications services that connect YouTube and its users," explained technology industry analyst Charles King of Pund-IT.It was 20 years ago, on April 23, 2005, that the very first video titled simply "Me at the Zoo" was uploaded to YouTube. As the video sharing service marked its two-decade anniversary, it noted that the site has more than 20 billion video uploads, including shorts and podcasts. Moreover, as of last month, more than 20 million videos are uploaded daily to YouTube, while the platform regularly sees around 100 million comments on videos d...
