This wooden 40 foot Truman was designed and built in 1963. The current owner bought her and ran her down the river to where she was lifted for refurbishment work but has now divided to just seller her as she is after some work has been done. The decks are new and have been fully fiberglass sheathed and she has a low hour nanni diesel fitted and a lot of requiring work recently re done. She needs a fair bit of TLC and finishing but she is all there and the local wooden boat yard specialist where she is stored will be on hand to help and advise and also when launched manage the take up of the hull while the wood re swells. She has been ashore now for two years while works were being done and she can remain where she is. She had a full survey in 2019 (available) and has a separate rear cabin with twin berths and dresser and a large heads and shower compartment. The cockpit has weighted cantilever hard folding top and folding screens to allow bridge clearance. The saloon is large and has an attached across the boat galley with fridge and cooker. Forward is the twin bow cabin and additional heads. This is being sold as a project so will need finishing but represents a great and well priced opportunity to acquire a large and one off stylish wooden cruiser. Originally imported and sold as a Mariner Yachts International 37 Seville Pilothouse, this model is the predecessor to the successor Helmsman Trawlers 38 Pilothouse and is dimensionally equal. With an additional alternator with Balmar regulator, a large AGM house bank, propane galley stove and NextGen 3.5 kw generator you can spend nights on the hook and not worry about electrical power or hot water. The davit crane and a Walker Bay dinghy with 20 HP Honda provide reliable shore boat operations. The current owners have had it for 10 years and have cared well for her. She has been regularly and professionally serviced -- engine maintenance records are available. Hours are low at about 1300. This boat gives the impression of being much larger than its size implies with a very roomy interior and a design that includes a full-beam saloon, a day head, separate master head and shower compartments, and an extended pilothouse that actually serves as a comfortable living area in addition to its piloting function.
