Assistant Professor, Acting and Directing

We seek a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor in Acting and Directing to begin on September 1, 2026. Primary responsibilities include teaching Theatre Arts majors in the undergraduate performance curriculum and directing one departmental theatre production annually. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in acting and directing at all levels of the curriculum, and will also direct a range of potential theatre productions. Ideally, candidates will have one or more additional strengths in such areas as fight choreography, musical theatre, and movement or voice for the actor. The position holds a 2/2 teaching load with the direction of a theater production counting as one class. Candidates must have a terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.), experience teaching undergraduates, and professional experience in acting and/or directing.
