Register with Boatshed to see 65 extra photos of this Rollins 56 .The Rollins 56 is a beautiful Alden-style staysail schooner, perfect for comfortable and elegant cruising. It features a classic design with modern amenities. Design & Layout: The owner aimed for a blend of elegance and comfort, resulting in a traditional staysail schooner with a long waterline and low profile trunk cabin. Hull Construction: The hull is built with watertight compartments for added safety. Timber fittings and all fastening and bedding materials that went into this hull are of exceptional high quality. The hull is constructed atop a one piece white oak keel with black locust timbers and fitted up to comprise a three piece stem assembly, sternpost and horn-timber. Attached to the keel is a single piece molded 20,000 lb lead ballast bolted with sets of 1.5" bronze bolts. White oak framing with vertical grain Douglas Fir planking 6" to 8" wide. This construction method yields a stiff and stable hull. The transom is planked with black locust over locust frames. The rudder is sternpost hung and built with a combination of locust and teak with custom Rollins bronze aperture that protects the leading edge of the rudder and provides rigidity. Interior Interior joinery work is exceptional in both the level of workmanship and selection of woods. The doors and cabinet faces are frame and panel are select cherry and curly cherry finished bright in high gloss marine varnish. Overhead house beams, deck beams and Carlin caps are black locust and cherry finished bright with white for contrast. The cabin soles are planked up of solid teak with raised holly seams. There are lift out hatches along the centreline for access to tanks, through hulls and system components. The boat has been well cared for by its owner since build and is currently in the yard undergoing painting, varnishing and other works. These boat details are subject to contract. Register with Boatshed to see 91 extra photos of this Jack Powles Day Launch 21 wooden 21 foot electric day launch. Here we have a classic and very unique 21 foot wooden river launch from the mid 30s that is now fully electric with whole day usage and onboard charging and recent new batteries and trailer. If you have a local property this would be a wondaful day boat to have at the end of the garden! She has been restored in the past by Colin Buttifant one of the areas best wooden boat builders and she is a charming and tidy little vessel with canopy cabin roof and pram canopy rear. She was last antifouled in 2023 and has been mostly out of the water since. The current owner just does not have the time to use her so she is being sold so someone can enjoy this lovely vessel. She has a boat safety certificate to 2027 and recent new batteries (8). She has onboard charging and will fully charge overnight and run all day at 15A current draw which is about 3mph. Unfortunately she is inside a dark work shed at a boat yard and was dusty from storage but will be cleaned over. I will also endeavour to get some better pictures of her outside the building. These boat details are subject to contract.
